This year's foray took place at Camp Geddie in Ponds (near Merigomish) Pictou County on the weekend of  September 16, 17, & 18, 2016. Camp Geddie is situated right on the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait.
The first foray took place in 2009 and has been an annual event since then. It has now established itself as an event that is eagerly looked forward to by mycophiles, naturalists and anyone who likes being in the woods amongst like minded people. The mushrooms that are collected by participants at the foray are identified, dried and stored in an herbarium so that they become a permanent scientific record of the fungi of Nova Scotia.
People who take part in our forays have all levels of expertise from complete novices to very knowledgeable amateur mycologists as well as Nova Scotia experts in the field of mycology.
