Don’t delay! For one thing, we always spend the first weeks after registration opens biting our nails down to ragged stumps hoping we get the numbers we need to sustain our hyper-inflated egos. For another, we spend the weeks after that figuring out new ways to turn people away without inviting their everlasting wrath down upon our kinfolk!

Be warned – these forays have turned out to be surprisingly popular. We hate saying no, but volunteers, resources, and the local fire marshal make the decision for us!

Groups of 5 – 10 participants in the company of a mushroom expert will be guided by professional foresters to a variety of woodland ecosystems and old growth forests for collecting. After lunch in the woods participants will return in early afternoon to sort and identify collections. This second annual event will follow North American Mycological Society protocols so that participants will be helping build a provincial mycological database.
