Nova Scotia Mycological Society

Folks, it’s all firmed up, and we’re headed for White Point in southwest Nova Scotia on September 24-26! Rouse ye, Merry Mush-heads, and reserve your spot.

Don’t delay! For one thing, we always spend the first weeks after registration opens biting our nails down to ragged stumps hoping we get the numbers we need to sustain our hyper-inflated egos. For another, we spend the weeks after that figuring out new ways to turn people away without inviting their everlasting wrath down upon our kinfolk!

Foray 2010

Your directors (well, at least Bruce) have been hard at work through the winter months. And while they were working, they also gave some thought to the foray. We’re headed for southwest Nova Scotia on September 24-26, and all frenzied fungal fans should make plans.

Be warned – these forays have turned out to be surprisingly popular. We hate saying no, but volunteers, resources, and the local fire marshal make the decision for us!

Thanks to all who attended, spread the word, or otherwise contributed to the 2009 Foray. 75 participants found over 120 different mushroom species!

Well, we’re all ready (or doing are darndest to be)! Come heck or high water, we will be out gathering mushrooms on Saturday, so don’t miss out!
